Brief The objective of the campaign was to create awareness for the first HP touchscreen desktop PC, highlighting its instant touch connectivity feature and multimedia entertainment capabilities.
Solution We created the first campaign site ever to be powered by a multi-player server traditionally used for real-time gaming. It allows users to see and click on each other to combine music pieces with photo journals instantly in real-time, at a touch. The best combination wins both players an HP TouchSmart PC each.
Interface
and Navigation Rationale The interface for this site is unlike any other. The approach of beginning your journey by clicking/connecting with another user delivers on the campaign promise of instant connectivity. This live connection also encourages users to complete their task and engage with others.
The music tool and photo journal tool are not only highly interactive but also user-friendly. The clean and stylish overall site design is aesthetically pleasing without clouding the big idea.
Programming
and Scripting As this was an Asia Pacific campaign, the use of multi-player server and Flash meant a lot of intensive experimenting and testing were required across different platforms and countries. Despite the various challenges, the campaign ran successfully, delivering a fresh and highly interactive experience. The multi-player capability truly enabled real-time interaction, delivering on the campaign’s key promise of instant connectivity.
